The propaganda is really really strong in this one. I don't know where the car took a wrong turn, but I assure you, it took a wrong turn somewhere up the turnpike, and it's time to swing the Honda back around, and get everything back on track. This movie is beyond lame. In between was a lot of painfully long spells that weren't funny and didn't serve to build a viable story line. We only do that to men.
I gave this 2 stars because of the few good laughs and I liked the original characters, but the political agenda is unforgivable. A joke that wasn't funny the first time it was used was delivered multiple times. I won't be watching the next neighbors if it's made if it has the same content this one had within it. They made light of things that we shouldn't joke about like police brutality and the holocaust. But just as they thought they have reclaimed the neighborhood, they learn that their new neighbors are even more out of control than the last.
Yes, even how to vote. Maybe an eight year old would find this funny, which renders the movie totally useless, because I wouldn't allow anyone to watch this, much less and eight year old. Baby plays with a sex toy. If you consider that the first part of this disaster had plot, this one ruined it. To evict them, they will need help from their ex neighbor Zac Efron.
Gays getting married, sexism, black cops arresting white guys roughly, but being nice to black criminals. The movie opens up with a couple having sex isn't that the way the original Neighbors opened up? Every other scene had a political agenda. If you started and are just watching to see how it ends - guess! It is impossible to laugh with the gross, stupid and incoherent sexist situations based on the same joke over and over again. Basically, the problem with this movie is that it isn't funny and kept reusing the same jokes. Bottom line: This film is a bust, and the other reviews back my opinion up. It was just plain sad.
I think this actually had to be one of the most disappointing comedies of the year and it has now ranked as probably the 2nd worst comedy movie I have ever seen in my life! And then comes the sequel. All in all, there are a lot of good jokes in this movie, but there's also a lot that didn't work and could have been done better! The plot is pretty simple, after a sorority lead by Shelly Chloë Grace Moretz moves in next door, they decide to get help from their previous enemy Teddy Sanders! Does Seth Rogan even know what garbage he's making? It is almost nothing like the original and what's sad even is that the trailer was appealing. There is nothing brave, clever or daring here, its strict adherence to third wave feminism masked as comedy. This will be the final time I pay money to see a Seth Rogen movie. The movie lacks with what the first movie had in many ways such as its original comedy. This starts from nowhere and does not get anywhere.
She provides a few laugh out loud jokes. What I was expecting was some improvement over the original, something different. To evict them, they will need help from their ex neighbor Zac Efron. Man, I know everyone involved in this movie did it for a paycheck but I think it is ultimately going to hurt more than a few careers. The scene where the girl goes through the windshield is in there, but oddly her flying past Seth Rogen in slow motion is not. Because it was totally politically incorrect, without any messages at all. That shot is in the movie, but it's part of a video they upload to get members interested.
But I'm sure they had a list of things they were mandated to include in the movie so you can't really blame them either. I just cringed as he went through another film thinking it was a good idea. The actors and actresses did a fine job. If you are looking for a good movie with strong female leads I would rather recommend renting Thelma And Louise for the 6th time, If you are looking for a good comedy I would not recommend movies with a number in the title. Thus, I waited for it to appear at the dollar theater. I enjoyed maybe 5% of this movie.
I did not sign up for this lesson in political correctness. How this has a 6. But just as they thought they have reclaimed the neighborhood, they learn that their new neighbors are even more out of control than the last. That's as elegant a review as the content deserves. If you have a brain and think for yourself, you will hate this movie.
The actors did their part and there were maybe 3 or 4 amusing scenes. Let's review what I saw in six minutes. All in all, it's a decent film, but I wouldn't pay to watch it again. There are jokes in there that do work as 2 examples of Seth Rogen making a trip to the Sydney Opera House in Australia or Jimmy's clown laugh. Rose Byrne gets into character really well yet again. As such, I definitely do not recommend this movie, and I don't think you should waste your time and money going to see it. There was literally a 10 minute timeframe in which the movie used the same joke about 5 times.
Except messages of political correctness. If so, go ahead and watch it. And just in case you haven't got what I am saying by now then save 1hr 32mins of your life by reading the next sentence carefully. I quit watching this because I just knew, deep in my heart, that the film was not going to improve. All the actors lacked their touch with their performance in this movie. Two Chinese stars straight in the gut, Nicholos Stroller. When the person who authorized this movie dies and stands at the white pearly gates of St Peter open the trap door to hell and they fall straight into the burning pits of despair.
