If you are a horror buff who likes ghosts then this movie will deliver the emotional roller coaster ride that you expect. The name of the show in this movie is Ghost Sightings. Being offered an old prison to investigate, the team puts their budget on the line and does not get disappointed. If I won the lottery tomorrow, after paying off my debts, I'd buy a smallish house somewhere in Southern California. Some movies like Haunting of Cellblock 11: Curse of the Forty-Niner 2002 , Seance: The Summoning 2011 , The Tomb 2007 , Sanatorium 2013 , Killer Instinct 2001. The character shallow with no depth in any way. A fine example of what people will wind up doing to save their jobs when they are being put on the line.
He leads them to a truly haunted prison with a grisly past — Freeling State Penitentiary deep in the woods. The film is well paced without overdoing some of the hackneyed devices too common in Found Footage films such as Lewton Buses, overly shaky footage, blurred images of apparitions as the camera equipment plays up etc. I want to like and care about the characters on the screen. Instead it just becomes window dressing as the movie has no use for subtly. Otherwise, throw it straight into the circular file.
I'm not a big film of happy endings. Only being able to get into semi haunted locations due to a lack of budget, they are searching for something that will put their names back on the map. The whole story is not new and the dialogs are very poor. The premise is basic and to the point. Her and I share a soul. Yet I understand that it is a movie and it had to be done. I'm assuming there might also be a chance of some of the characters returning for another film? I have an unhealthy relationship with potato chips.
Nice acting plus story with some nice scares. Cellblock 11 is realistic, solid, and believable. Another team member is then attacked and dragged away into the darkness. It is a genre of film with simple cross-cultural appeal, making it stupidly easy to market. At one point I found myself a little too reminded of the Ghostfacers from Supernatural, but it quickly passed. Roger is just that irritating anti-everything that nobody really wants in the group and all he does is inconvenience everyone.
This turns out to be an old penitentiary. Everyone needs to watch this movie, very exciting and great storyline. I like it when bad people have bad things coming to them and that was the case with this film. And a ladybug on my wrist named George after George Romero told me he liked it. I'm very much addicted to Hallmark Channel. Hearing the stories about the prison, they are able to set up for the night, but one eerie story has stuck in their minds.
This dampened the professional effort of the camerawork and, to a certain degree, the acting, reminding you this was a somewhat amateur effort. There were small moments of hand held, but mostly it was filmed in the classical normal? I actually started to fall asleep towards the end, how people can rate this 5 stars is beyond me. Examples may be documentary films or collage films. Decent acting from most of the cast helps this low budgeter that is worth a look for fans of the genre. If you are a horror fan then I consider this movie as a success.
Well worth a watch for my money. It's like they didn't even want to make an effort to be a Grave Encounters knock-off. The stories we were given were slightly clichéd, they, however managed to lift themselves from cliché garbage to a slightly nicer, more unique kind of way. In addition and without spoiling the story, the twist at the end was good as well. I read some reviews that were too negative, so I was not hoping this movie to be as good as I experienced myself. They are warned by several people not to stay in the prison, but desperate for real ghostly activity, the team heads in anyway.
The ending redeems the slow portion that preceded it somewhat. In many sequencys i thought it is an parody of other films, because the actors are so shameless bad. My cartoon hero is Tina Belcher. When they decide to do a decent biopic of Whitney Houston, there's your star. Finally, as said before the twists featured in the film. The movie was filmed on location at the now closed Missouri State Penitentiary. Even the show host was taunting the ghosts at a number of points.
Happily the crew need not worry as Mr. I know it all needs to be setup but it was just so… meh. The team of Ghost Sightings, a paranormal show are struggling to get the ratings that they need to continue to stay on the air. As someone who was privileged to watch the filming process for this movie first-hand, I was completely impressed with the quality of the film overall. After watching Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures, Haunted. We also get interesting little Christmas morals here, and there to follow through with, minor little elements.
Bringing the best that you have is not always going to keep you on the top, in fact, it may cost you in the long run. The list contains related movies ordered by similarity. The writing left me with a couple of face-palming why-didn't-you-see-that-coming moments, but not a lot of them. Also, all the protagonists are decent likable people. But enough to hold the attention of the audience. Washington could do an early Diana Ross, pre-Supremes split. What an unfinished, generic story.
