Then it finally started working and the while system shut down for a maintenance reset happened twice. And it should take almost exactly 25 minutes to download. If so, then one of the things that could have happened is your button cluster on the steering wheel could have shorted out or is not functioning. All I asked for was a radio display and clock that worked and I think I have it now! If your radio power amplifier is tripping out the main processor then it will override other nav system functions. Sync is such garbage and ford should recall it.
Short version is, it's never worked since the vehicle was new and they refuse to fix it. I called the Ford center and they walked me through the master reset but it did not completely reset my settings like you described in your initial posting. It was a brown 7. Started my truck after getting gas and had the 911 Assist pop up on my touch screen and the radio when out. So that part of the system, plus the steering wheel control or the dash control is working. Then the pop noise happed again and now once again no radio, just a black screen.
Has the card gone bad? You have to poke the screen in the right place. Man am I pissed I have to deal with a blown left cluster again. Let the vehicle run for at least four or five minutes. Did you delete your phone from Sync? Please contact the Ford Customer Service department at 800-392-3673 — since you are overseas there will have to be some special arrangements made. I would check with the support.
Close the hood on the vehicle. This is not the way to help a new owner understand their new vehicle. Ford needs to rectify this by having more than one audible beep which I somehow managed to miss at 50 miles to go, preferably a voice that tells you how many miles to go before empty. On the right side of the screen, touch the Delete tab. This is where one-on-one consultations are very effective.
And worse, I have been accused of using a buffer and doing the damage myself! We made an appt at the dealer, they are telling us the radio is shot and not under warranty because we are over the 36,000 mile warranty. In that case you could dislodge the debris and everything will reset. The vehicle was not repaired. Ford has a white elephant hear. So now I await to see if they will keep their word. I have a 2013 Ford Explorer with Sync with MyFord Touch. Be sure the Bluetooth Setting is turned on your phone.
When I came back out to the car 10 minutes later, even tho the car was off. I was just outside the warranty. I have been taking the car in and out the dealer for over a month. I would not have pulled a fuse assembly loose — who knows what might be disrupted. To everyone else, Ford Technical Hotline always recommends a Master Reset In the settings menu first and then a battery disconnect for 5 minutes to let Sync re-initialize.
They addressed the recall and smell by putting adshesive tape and sealant glue called and told it it was ready. While driving my information screen went white then started to post error messages, like blind side warning disabled, then eventually went back to normal. Seat heaters work ok but the front seats are controlled by the touch screen. The dealer is saying that the warranty is expired so there is no relief on this. The day I bought it and the next morning I had the black screen of death. I applied the latest available Sync update, 4. Accused so… because I keep my vehicle clean! Today was not a good day with nav under v2.
Frankly needs to be scrapped and to start over again. It locks up freezing my iPhone 5s , and all screens in the car. I really dislike this car and would take it back in a heart beat if I could. Again, I am familiar with navs, voice commands, touch screens etc. Have not tried the battery disconnect yet. Has anyone else had this problem.
All in all this vehicle is a nightmare and I wish I never bought it. If so, in the reassembly it might not have been put together correctly. It just quit working out of the blue. Happens about once a month. The failure mileage was 1,450. Calls cannot be made through the Sync system until everything is loaded and then sometimes it gets cut off.
Every time the dealer says it does not do it to them while there. The car is paid for and only has around 700 miles on it, 150 of which came with the car. Yes I bought it used certified about 45 days ago, it has about 41 k miles on it, the dealer is a Ford dealer here in Pocomoke, Md. I have been using the system now for over a month since I did the reset to factory settings…. And, I never mess with pulling fuses. To not have a reboot after a black cable clamp is pulled would indicate to me that something else may be the cause of the issue.
