We now a month later have a 2009, so we were able to jump out of one into a near exact replica, with some improvements. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified.
So much so, that I bought a second one at 96k miles for my new driver daughter. Huge blind spots at each pillars where the windows are and the frame makes the driver nearly impossible to judge if the car is straight especially when you're backing up slowly. While driving various speeds, the vehicle began to viciously vibrate without warning. If its piston slap shouldnt the oil have a good amount of metal shavings? I documented the entire thing, before and after videos, boroscope videos showing the inside of the cylinders damaged, serial numbers and pressure testing of the cylinders.
Looks sporty as well for a gas saver. I have to throw the car in park real fast and re-crank it and it typically starts back up. Also Everything is very accessible for cleaning and maintenance. The knocking noise you hear is horizontal movement of the pistons against the cylinder walls.

This car also has a great trunk and storage area with the ability to flip down the back seats. I brought the car to the dealer ship today today and I was assured that this problem would not happen again. I took it to the Nissan technician and they found the motor mount was broken. This bulletin has been amended. However, from what I read in other posts, this will be temporary and eventually, it won't shift at all.
My truck had the same problem. I purchased a new car so that I would not have to worry about getting to my job etc. Oil in the tail pipe? The car sounds fine when idle but gets really loud when I accelerate especially when first driving. Never happens before, usually this car locks while you are driving. Love the back seats folding down to offer even more space. It is a good durable vehicle and the look of it is nice. Well, piston knocking accures all the time correct?? I see this car staying in our family for long time.
Stay tuned more info to come. I have less than 7k miles on my car, mobil 1 since first oil change. Nissan does not stand behind their mistakes and do what is right. I just want my car fixed. After replacing the motor mount the vehicle sound just like new just how is was supposed to sound. I took it to a mechanic only to have him tell me he would have to restore the engine. Not a car for performance but more for practical driving.
Higher rpm casual driving it sounds just fine. Mine's doing the same thing. I am finding lots of reports though. My Warranty is through Nissan Security Plus Gold plan. Some of them I still don't know how to use and I couldn't figure out how to see the time without reading the manual. Now the exhaust is coming out where the rust came eat through the metal and is making really loud noises.
