What did you do to the rear? You could go with a Holley throttle body system. When you find a 360 computer you can also take the 360 tbi off and put it on your 318 the 360 has bigger throttle bores so you can gain some power from that too! The sensors in the 4Di system detect this sudden throttle closure and respond instantly with reduced fuel delivery to eliminate an overrich condition. The sound is noticeable but not loud. Do I have to get a new tranny also? I believe it was a vaccum line on the front of the carburetor that was causing the majority of my problems, got it hooked up right and it seems to be backfiring less on me. Is there any other component that could cause this or do i just need to most likely replace the solenoid. I know this topic has been brought up before ,just looking for the facts and exact how to. If the pattern is more like a faucet turned on then there is something wrong with the injectors or the injector drivers in the pcm. You can also put a larger pulley on your alternator, the bigger the pulley the less power it takes to turn it, old street car racer trick.
One last thought - Mopar Action had some really good tech from Dr Ebooger about flat tappet cam failures. Your parts store can probably provide you with an aftermarket cover if you were to take off the smog pump. You can either try another Browesr I use Google Chrome with no add ons or Plugins or disable your Plugins or Add Ons until you find the offender. You could go with a Holley throttle body system. If you like to play with carbs which I do go with a nice 4-bbl. I got the scanner to read it, and it isn't showing any codes. I have read through alot of posts on here but none seem to tell you how to do it step by step and exactly how to do it. There are a couple of weird things: The scanner shows that the computer is looking for a desired idle of around 430 rpm, and it shows that it is running about that fast. I think that is because I need to adjust the idle down a bit. So why not join us? I also plan on switching to a mechanical fuel pump and I have a proper carb distributor.
Recently sold the 360'' and 833 four speed out of my 1964 Valiant convertible, feel a little sad about that but as my wife refused to drive it heavy clutch and I got good money for it I decided to let it go. I checked it with my light and it isn't doing that. Chad chrysler efi motors are speed density so they really dont have alot of sensors and junk. Now I have got it to idle fine but i noticed the anti dieseling solenoid does come on when the switch is turned on but after about 45 second the plunger appears to lose power and drops back down. Routing the harness is time consuming and contingent upon where the computer is placed. If still unsure, check engine designation on the under hood label. I'm lost on this one can u check your fuel pressure? I'm sure that aftermarket gasket selection is less confusing, but you still must be sure that you have the right ones for the job. Any advice you guys can throw my way would be appreciated. Or should I attempt to use a performance Throttle-Body and skip the intake? But I would be wondering why the ignition switch isn't sending power to the coil primary positive terminal, and why it isn't causing the fuel pump to be turned on, too. If you don't see the link, If you still don't see the Login or Sign Up link, then the problem is most likely a browser in need of an update or a 3rd party Plug In or Addon that was poorly written and blocking. Remember, the O2 sensor is a switching sensor.
